COMO LAKE
The deepest lake in Italy offers many possibilities for diving enthusiasts, which is why, in addition to being an internationally renowned destination for sailors, Lake Como is also a reference point for many diving enthusiasts.
This huge basin has always been considered among the best places in Europe for diving, thanks to its clean waters, pleasant temperatures and the diversity of experiences that can be undertaken.
Spectacular dives can be organized in Lake Como for both novice and more experienced divers; there are in fact dives of all kinds: archaeological, deep, for beginners, for experts, in caves, along suggestive sheer walls and so on.
Let's see together what are the peculiar characteristics of this lake; its surface is 146 square kilometers, has an average depth of 154 meters, and a maximum depth of 415 meters (near Argegno). It is one of the deepest lakes in Europe and the third largest in Italy. It is located at an average altitude of 199 m.
You will discover a multitude of fish, from pike to perch, to eel, passing through carp, trout, chub and many others.

WHEN ?
You can dive in the waters of Lake Como all year round.
The best period (unlike the sea) is winter, but pleasant surprises are often hidden even during the summer when the water
more temperate, however, guarantees good visibility and total freedom of action.
Take into account the temperature and the lack of light (for your clothing and equipment): diving in the lake is often different from that in the sea, but no less attractive. Lake Como is not as cold as one might fear. On the surface, the water temperature in summer is about 23 degrees, reaching about 11 degrees at a depth of 30 meters. During the winter season, however, the temperature is between 6 and 8 degrees.
WHERE
The sea is wonderful, but the lake is an authentic pearl to be discovered and appreciated .. let yourself be inspired; whether you are a technical rather than a recreational diver, put on your wetsuit, mask and tanks and also discover this underwater world, its unique ecosystems and the species that live there ..

There are many ideal spots for diving, some of them can only be reached by boat such as Punta Spargivento in Bellagio, the wall of Villa Pliniana in Torno and Onno with its seahorses, but there are other destinations that are naturally more popular than others substantially for three reasons: the beauty and uniqueness of the seabed, the presence of infrastructures and equipment, as well as the reachability of the diving point. For example, we could mention the fantastic Baia di Piona in Colico (the dome and the Comballo Luisin, the Malpensata), Riva di Gittana with its wreck (Autobotte), Mandello del Lario and Lierna with its overhanging walls, Malgrate and much more. with fantastic historical wrecks to be admired and excited. Other points offer, more specifically, equipment such as lanyards (ropes that mark the route) or platforms for carrying out the exercises of the courses, such as RapaNui in Loc. Moregge (LC).
